Brief July 4th Blogulator Radio Hiatus

To our dear fellow TV acolytes and critics:

Chris, Qualler, Brigitte, Jerksica, DoktorPeace, and the rest of The Blogulator’s cast and crew wish you a happy America day as we take a brief break from netcasting to look back on and celebrate our first thirteen episodes, all of which are available for streaming and/or downloading here at Fancy Pants Gangsters (as well as watch fireworks and stuff our faces with brats). We’ll be back next week with some thoughts on The Voice‘s first season finale and Bravo’s new “reality” “competition” “show” Platinum Hit, but until then, take a stroll with us down memory lane as we pride ourselves on our various TV tirades and tangents that we’ve amassed so far for Fancy Pants Gangsters.

If you’re in a summer rerun rut (yes, we’re aware that’s becoming less and less of a thing, but bear with us), we recommend checking out our mammoth-sized “Pilot” episode in which we recommend to you our ten favorite shows from 2010 to catch up on if you have yet to already. For those curious about FX’s 2011 programming, check out “Is Our Opinion Valid?” for bite-sized reviews of Lights Out and season two of Archer. Not that highbrow? Fret not; Chris brings on his wife Jerksica to talk American Idol and former Blogulator contributor Lady Amy, who’s traveling abroad in China, to discuss Disney’s next potential animated franchise, Pleasant Goat and Big Big Wolf in “Foghorn”. Then Qualler and Brigitte teared up and netcasted in bed shortly after watching the season finale of NBC’s underrated gem Parenthood in the episode entitled “Forever Young” and Chris and Jerksica crack up as they review the beginnings of NBC’s overrated The Voice as well as the ending to America’s Next Great Restaurant in “Judge + Coach = Joach” the next week.

Elsewhere amongst the first thirteen episodes of Blogulator Radio, the big gang got back together for “Likely Cancellation”, in which they went through the roller coaster of predicting which major network shows were going to survive the renewal process. One show that no one will likely have to be worried about getting canceled for the foreseeable future is Glee, which Chris discusses with The Blogulator’s resident Gleek, Smarmy Sam, on “Gleep of Faith”. Speaking of trashy pleasures, Qualler and Brigitte profess and analyze their love for Bravo programming in the episode “Satan in a Sunday Hat” while the gang reconvenes to review the previews of many delightfully trashy-looking new shows for the fall of 2011 in “Full Upfrontal” – of which they are more than plenty to get excited/nervous about.

We here at Blogulator Radio were extremely excited when we got to hook up with our fellow FPG netcasters to present a Veronica Mars TV Party at the Red Stag Supperclub, so Chris and Jerksica did a special tribute to Kristen Bell and co. on “Dillon vs. Neptune”, in which Qualler and Brigitte also took time to discuss the midway point in the final season of the equally beloved Friday Night Lights. Still looking for great old shows to reconnect with or discover for the first time? Qualler and Brigitte got your back with “Al Swearingen and Jen Lindley Are Not All That Different”, in which they discuss the wonders that are HBO’s Deadwood and The WB’s Dawson’s Creek. To round out our netcast review, we’ve got recent entries from Chris and Jerksica on the season one finale of AMC’s The Killing in “You’ve Got to Be Killing Me” and Qualler and Brigitte’s look at the new seasons of True Blood and Louie in “Havin’ a Ball”.

So there you have it – everything you need to know about Blogulator Radio thus far. Sit back, press play, and remember that our opinions are valid.
