Capes & Crepes Episode 3 – What Makes A Super Man?

Once again coming to you from their favorite table at Golden’s Deli in Lowertown St. Paul.

Adam has already seen Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Dan is hours away from his first viewing. Our hosts then have an in-depth talk about one of comic’s most difficult characters: Superman. Dan raves about SUPERMAN: AMERICAN ALIEN by Max Landis and published by DC Comics.

This then leads into Adam talking about another favorite long-running “super” character: Invincible, by Robert Kirkman and published by Image Comics.

Old Man Dan raves on about the recently collected Swamp Thing vol 2 that collects the Mark Millar/Phil Hester run from DC Comics in the early 1990’s. Adam also steps into the Way Back Machine as he introduces his BACK ISSUE HUNTER segment and talks about the early 1980/s Red Tornado mini-series by Kurt Busiek and Carmine Infantino.

Dan then introduces his own segment (so many segments!) YOU NEED THIS! The mid-1990’s inter-company crossover AMALGAM is the topic of conversation here.

The episode wraps up with thoughts on the Netflix show Jessica Jones.

(Adam and Dan loved it!)

Opening and closing tunes brought to you by New Jersey’s favorite son, Sammy Kay.
