The Well Fed Guide To Life Episode 126 – I Can See For Miles And Miles And Miles
Posted by FPG Post-O-Matic
Our 3rd Annual State Fair Gastronomic Marathon is once again at hand. And while this year the show lacks a certain sense of impending death on the part of our esteemed hosts, it does not lack in culinary exploration, as Dave and Evan sample such delights as deep fried cheese burgers, deep fried bologna sandwiches, camel on a stick (not deep fried, thankfully) and red wine ice cream, which together sound like an episode of Chopped from a fever dream.
Does the absence of near-death food experiences mean that The Well Fed Guide To Life has matured as a show? Possibly. Does it mean that it was hotter than normal and we are just as fat as we always are, limiting our ability to walk, talk and devour grease without sounding like beached walruses? Most definitely. Regardless of why, a rather sedate and cultured prance through the Minnesota State Fair is in store for you.
Also in store is Evan torturing Dave on the Sky Ride, proving that while the show may have matured, the hosts haven’t.

The Well Fed Guide To Life Episode 125 – Barsss

It’s really hard to accurately portray the Minnesotan accent in text form. It’s kind of like Elvish that way.
It is often said that Dave and Evan are like an old married couple. This has never been more true than this week, as they try to get dinner at 4:15 PM. This may seem unfortunate, as The Red Stag Supper Club‘s dinner (including the Tuesday night Cheap Date Night) starts at 5. So the guys decide to indulge in some of the club’s strong drinks and fine locally sourced bar foods. They also discuss the intricacies of Minnesota cuisine and preview the State Fair a bit as well.

Everyone loves a good tongue-twister now and again. Luckily Evan and Dave are seasoned professionals at this here podcasting thing, else something like the title might trip them up.
After a week off, the guys get back together with stories to tell and food to eat. Gen Con provides some stories, while The Longfellow Grill provides the food. And the liquor, as Dave finds out. Learn the dangers of apostrophe abuse and clams on French Toast, all in the comfort of your local mp3 player.

The Well Fed Guide To Life Episode 123 – Support Your Local Food Place

We are a working man’s show, dangit. Restaurant sounds almost French.
In support of Minneapolis’s Restaurant Week, Dave and Evan decided to partake of one of the many great deals being offered to hungry yet poor folks. Luckily the list of participating restaurants is so vast, it did matter than Masa was our fourth pick. Even luckier for the guys was the fact that Masa gave them just what is needed on a hot day:fruity drinks and amazing guacamole.
The management would also like to apologize in advance for Evan’s Spanish pronunciation. He went to the Alex Trebec School and can get a little carried away at times.

The Well Fed Guide To Life Episode 122 – Vegas, Baby

Having fully recovered from last week’s street food orgy, and with Evan returning from the untamed West, it is only fitting that the guys check out an Ecuadorian place tucked away in Northeast Minneapolis. Actually I’m not sure how that is fitting, exactly. Maybe they still haven’t recovered fully from last week after all. What we are sure about is that Chimborazo is not actually new, but over a year old. Again, all signs point to major food related brain damage on the part of the hosts. Which is, of course, the best kind of brain damage to have.
All images related to this episode shamelessly stolen from Heavy Table’s review.
