Evan and Dave sit down at one of the many fine eating and drinking establishments in the Twin Cities to discuss the world. All topics are fair game, from pop culture to lifestyles to philosophy to bacon. Mmm bacon.
Think the View, but with guys, beer, food, and swearing.
Well Fed Guide To Life Episode 97 – Tastes Like Baby
I’ll be a little honest here, I’m pretty surprised we’ve gone 97 episodes without using that title.
Neither rain, nor sleet, nor drifting fish flakes will keep us from our appointed rounds, but closings might. Disproving the notion that second place is the first loser, True Thai made an fine substitution for our prefered choice (I’m not telling you where it is, in case we do it later). Dave tries something with a face, Evan eats the official sweet and sour dish of the St. Paul School System, and both of them discuss the importance of youthful bounceback in eggroll wrappers. And it could be the cabin fever, but the guys also discuss pork vs Viagra and the supposed 10 hottest women in food. Now how much would you pay?

The Well Fed Guide To Life Episode 96 – Hhhhoh-mas
It’s funny that for all the guff (that’s right, I said guff. We are in PG rated territory people) that the boys give Giada for overpronouncing words (we called the Trebek Effect), they have no problem butchering other cultures’ native tongues. Hypocrisy, thy name is Well Fed Guide!
It’s not often Minnesota is thrust onto the world stage (at least, not when it doesn’t involve some crazy local politician), so it was with great honor that Saffron head chef Sameh Wadi was recently pitted against Masaharu Morimoto in Iron Chef America. While I won’t spoil the ending for you, mostly because even Evan and Dave haven’t seen the episode yet, we can say that Saffron’s deft usage of spices and cute baby animal parts will more than likely win over the only 2 judges that matter. Now if we could only get Ted Allen on the show…

The Well Fed Guide To Life Episode 95 – HopChart
Sure we didn’t give this show the always cleaver witticisms present in the minds of your more sexy podcasters, but we decided to clamp down on the raw charisma you normally expect in our show postings to make sure you know about HopChart.com.
This week, HopChart.com’s creator Andrew Kaiser joins us at the Town Hall Brewery to discuss the site and how it can be used by beer lovers to rate, track, and discuss thier favorite beers with other like-minded people. We also get him to talk a little about his personal relationship with beer, we talk about Four Firkin’s proprietor Alvey way more than is healthy, and Evan brings a disgusting and largely confusing recipe for sloppy joes. Why would you not want to listen?
Also, urgent notice on the HopChart.com Winterfest drawing: you only have until midnight, Wednesday January 20th to join and rate beers to get a chance to win two highly coveted Winterfest tickets. Check out this link to find out more.

The Well Fed Guide To Life Episode 94 – Little Davey Needs A Nook
And I’m not talking Barnes And Noble’s E-reader. Because books scare him.
Through the magic of not-planning (which is the only kind of planning we do here at The Well Fed Guide), this is the second time we have revisited a location under new ownership. Unlike last time, the cuisine really didn’t change much. Which is good, because Red’s Savoy’s Uptown location (formerly Galooney’s) will always mean punk and pizza to me.

Well Fed Guide To Life Episode 93 – Hey Ma! Can I Get Some Meatloaf?
The title is an homage to the Who Asked You? guys. You should check them out to see why they are worthy of a Farrelesque homage.
One could call this part 2 of our Golden Bacon Awards special, covering both the Listener’s Poll (and it’s lucky winner) as well as addressing a grievous oversight in our awards. Luckily, this brings our total Golden Bacon Awards to 7 this year, up from 6 last year, which is less a commentary on our indecisiveness but more the amazing of the local food scene. Give yourselves a pat on the back, foodies! All this under the blues-infused vibe of the Newsroom, as the guys continue their way through Downtown (since it’s so close to Evan, and the less time they spend outside, the less chance of frostbite and an Alive situation)
