Cosmic Slop
Merry Christmas from Fancy Pants Gangsters!
You might notice the shows are a bit light this week, as most of the Gangsters are off visiting family, eating too much, and looking back on their lives with regrets. Or as Dave calls it, Tuesday.
Be sure to vote in our Well Fed Guide To Life Listener Choice poll. You can win a night out on us!
On behalf of all of us, have a great holiday and we will get back to putting out shows next week!
Cosmic Slop Episode 41 – 12/9/09
What’s this? A late entry, from the outlying precincts? Why, I think its…yes! It is! It’s a new episode of Cosmic Slop.
In Cosmic Slop episode 41, tasteful Nineties power pop, angular Eighties new wave, iconic Seventies acid funk, and jaunty Sixties jazz-pop combine to form a powerful brew. But wait, Chuck and Joel also add in a pair of Steely Dan-related rarities… Now how much would you pay? Nothing? SOLD!
Editor’s Note: Since it would be silly to pull down the episode we already posted, enjoy two shows for the price of one! In exchange, however, we would love it if you either joined on our forums or told your friends about Cosmic Slop or Fancy Pants Gangsters. Consider it paying it forward.
Matthew Sweet – Super Baby
Elliott Randall – Brother People
Steely Dan – Dallas
Margo Guryan – Sunday Morning
Skull Snaps – It’s A New Day
Blancmange – Living On The Ceiling

Cosmic Slop Rewind – Episode 6
Chuck and Joel can’t be reached now, leave a netcast at the beep.
Another week without new content from the Slop guys, but have no fear. Much like your parents, they had plenty of fun before you came along, bucko. So we give another episode from the pre-Fancy Pants Gangsters era, full to the brim with sticky prog-funk, Billy Joel-alikes, and more requests than you can shake a stick at, provided you can shake at stick at 6 things or less.
City Boy – The Hopkido Kid
The Moon – I Should Be Dreaming
Paul Davis – Superstar
Rasputin’s Stash – Hit It And Pass It
Angie – Peppermint Lump
Johnny “Guitar” Watson – Gangster Of Love

Cosmic Slop Episode 40 – 12/2/09
As Cosmic Slop turns forty (episodes, that is,) Chuck and Joel dig extra deep: fully half of the tunes featured have never appeared anywhere on CD…and one of those didn’t even make it to vinyl, either! Starting with an ex-Trip Shakespearean’s cassette-only pop gem,and ending with a shambling rant from the guy who invented black
independent cinema in America, Slop episode 40 positively reeks of quality and distinction (with a little dust and mold thrown in for a good measure.)
Matt Wilson – Raking Service
Colonel Bagshot’s Incredible Bucket Band – Six Day War
James Walsh Gypsy Band – Love Is For The Best In Us
Marshall Crenshaw – Cynical Girl
Cristina – Don’t Mutilate My Mink
Melvin Van Peebles – Love, That’s America

Fancy Pants Gangsters on turkey-based sabatical
Hello faithful listeners! Just wanted to leave a quick note that there will be no Cosmic Slop, Yet Another Gaming Show, or F.I.L.M. Army this week as the Gangsters have scattered to the four corners of the Earth (or Oerth, in Courtney’s case. The Klos family are minor celebrities in Western Oerik.)
After the birdmageddon, we will return with bellies full and ‘casting joints well oiled. Have a great holiday!
