Resurrecting the hits and misses of the 1970s, along with occasional gems from the 60s and 80s. Hosts Joel Stitzel and Chuck Tomlinson played tons of vintage popular music from outside the mainstream of what might be considered an “oldies program”.
Cosmic Slop Episode 43 – 2/3/10
Both your heart and your gonads will get a workout this time around, for Cosmic Slop Podcast 43 strikes the perfect balance between action and romance! Headbanging American girls, diminutive German rockers, and wistful Canadian power-poppers share the stage with a keyboard legend in decline, a confounding soul-jazz siren, and a seriously loopy Englishman who once, for about twenty minutes, was the frontman for the Sex Pistols. That’s some wild stuff!
The Runaways – American Nights
Tenpole Tudor – Swords Of A Thousand Men
Betty Davis – Your Mama Wants Ya Back
Gary Wright – Really Wanna Know You
The Scorpions – Steamrock Fever
April Wine – Tonite Is A Wonderful Time To Fall In Love

Cosmic Slop Episode 42 – 1/20/10
After an unanticipated, but restorative, holiday interlude, Chuck and Joel finally return with a passel of forgotten gems, some ridiculous, some profound…and some just profoundly ridiculous. Sacrifice is a recurring theme, whether it be impending human sacrifice, maudlin self-sacrifice, or vague and general grousing about the million little sacrifices necessary for a free society. Extended metaphors, from glam-poppers turned pill-poppers, impatient funkateers, and a German doofus with his own special brand of “magic wand,” round out what promises to be one of the most enlightening and thought-provoking sets of Slop yet!
Le Hoodoo Gurus - Leilani
The Rollers – Elevator
Vikki Carr – It Must Be Him
The Quickest Way Out – Tick Tock Baby (It’s A Quarter To Love)
Harry D. Cup – Sick American
ZaZa – Zauberstab

Cosmic Slop Episode 8 – For Real This Time Edition
So it came to our attention (thanks to a great listener on our Facebook page) that we posted the wrong episode for this week’s Cosmic Slop. I’ve updated the post, but to make sure people on the feeds and iTunes get the latest release, here it is again. So sorry for the fatfingering of the link.

Cosmic Slop Rewind – Episode 8
If you turn 8 on its side, it looks like infinity, which may seem like how long it will be before the dynamic duo of Chuck and Joel come back to the waiting arms of the Fancy Pants Gangsters with a brand new show. Fear not, gentle listener, because there is still a plethora (maybe even 2 plethoras) of old episodes to sate your animalistic desire for flute-rock, 60’s demos and Japanese wierdness. It’s Cosmic Slop: Episode 8!
Songs:
Firefall – Strange Way
Sun Forest – I Wanna Marry A Lighthouse Keeper
The Plastics – Top Secret Man
The Barkays - Holy Ghost

Cosmic Slop Rewind – Episode 7
While Chuck and Joel seem to have vanished into the ether (as opposed to the rest of us, which just huff it), we still have a fair amount of shows from the pre-Gangsters days. So if you are in the mood for German anti-fascism, New Orleans funkiness, rare Australian rock and country-ish covers of R&B tunes, this is the show for you.

Vivi Bach & Dietmar Schonherr – Molotov Cocktail Party
Allen Toussaint – Touch Of Love
The Big 3 – The Banjo Song
Rita Coolidge – Higher And Higher
