The F.I.L.M. Army Episode 43 – Whedon Chaff
Posted by FPG Post-O-Matic
Whew! What a weekend! Sorry for the late show notes, but between Crypticon Minneapolis and our sponsorship of The Evil Dead trilogy screening it’s a wonder we got anything done at all.
This week we do a remake of old shows in which we talk about whether or not its possible to do a good remake or not. Since remakes are all about adding new twists on an old formula, the conversation quickly diverges into ranting about Joss Whedon as well as pre-sound film history. We also learn what drove Jeff to the murderous rampages that made our previosu discussions about remakes so famous. Minor spoiler: he didn’t go to prom.
Last Week’s Soundtrack: The Gremlins
Segments
New Releases
- Recommended: The Men Who Stare At Goats (despite the reviews) and Ink (Jay’s recommendation of Mermaid seems to have been pushed back to 2010)
War Room: Remakes 2009
